November 20, 2024 Dear Fellow Member, It is the time of year when we give thanks, not only for all that we have, but also for all those who have positively affected our lives in 2024. Nowhere is this more deserved than at the Union Boat Club, where the thoughtfulness, dedication, and loyalty of our staff make the Club a truly special place for all of us.

  • Eileen McCormack (10 Years) - It is hard to believe that Eileen has been with us for 10 years! I believe we would all agree that she is always a welcoming presence to those entering the Club or attending an event and she shoulders the burden of being the onsite quarterback for nearly everything. The club functions day in and out because of Eileen’s efforts and we thank her for all her contributions throughout the year and for always helping us with a smile.

  • Gavan Hitchenor (3 Years) – Gavan has consistently driven a vibrant and competitive squash program in the 3 years he has been with us. Gavan’s implementation of the USL continues on as an outstanding fixture of the squash program and the club is well underway for a great 2024/25 season with competitive league play. As we’ve come to expect, Gavan has our program firing on all cylinders!

  • Eric Berg (2 Years) - Eric’s role over the last year has grown positively, helping execute both large and small projects. Eric’s knack for organization is helping to keep the House Committee on track and I’m sure everyone will notice that the club looks as good as it ever has. Eric has done a great job making sure both facilities are at their best for member use.

  • Kristi Partenheimer joined the Union Boat Club as our Accounting Manager in March of 2024. She had previously been the account manager for UBC since 2022 at NPCM, an outsourced bookkeeping services provider. She lives and works in Madison, Wisconsin.

We are very fortunate to have Eileen, Gavan, Eric and Kristi as a part of our UBC family. I ask that you consider supporting this year’s Christmas Fund, to the extent you are able to do so. Donations can be made via the UBC website, or by sending in a check made payable to the “2024 Union Boat Club Christmas Fund.”

We have much to be thankful for, and we look forward to seeing you all at The Union Boat Club in the near future! Best wishes to you and your family for a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
